Ryan Weir

Real Estate Professional

Over the course of a decade, I have held various relationship management positions in the financial industry, and in 2013, I established an Auckland-based property management company which I successfully sold in 2020.

Currently, I serve as the Director of Propertyscouts NZ, one of the country's most respected and specialised property investment firms.

My career has been immensely rewarding, particularly in helping my Propertyscouts franchisees achieve their business objectives and elevate their success. I am deeply passionate about leveraging my extensive knowledge and skills to help others attain their goals through strategic investments, planning, and innovative problem-solving techniques. With a solid foundation in analytics, management, and business development, I remain committed to contributing in a significant way that fosters long-term success for individuals and their families. I am committed to delivering exceptional advice and service, and I look forward to partnering with you to achieve your desired outcomes, whether you are looking to invest in property, launch a business, or increase your financial acumen. Let me help you reach your goals.

Community Work

At the heart of my values is a commitment to giving back. As the Deputy Chairman of the Residential Property Managers Association of New Zealand (RPMA®), I am passionate about raising industry standards and benefiting members, property owners, and the public. RPMA® is a professional association established and operated by residential property managers with the goal of promoting excellence in the industry.

I am also a firm believer that education is the key to driving progress in the property management sector. As a result, I volunteer my time to guide aspiring property managers across New Zealand, to gain their Level 4 Certificate in Property Management.

Additionally, I am an enthusiastic supporter of charitable causes, and I have participated in several fundraising events over the years. In a corporate boxing match in 2014, I raised money for the Save the Kiwi charity by undergoing gruelling training sessions every other day at dawn culminating in a boxing match at the Auckland Boxing Association Stadium in front of a lounge crowd. In 2013, I also took part in The Ride to Conquer Cancer, which involved cycling a total of 200 km over two days. Despite having never ridden a road bike before, I was able to raise over $5000 for the cause.

I am the 'Ask An Expert' for the NZ Property Investor Magazine. On a monthly basis, I tackle complex questions from readers and my responses, along with the original question, are published in the magazine. My passion lies in offering expert advice to property investors, which helps them overcome the challenges of being landlords and achieve success in the industry

I believe that giving back to the community is an essential part of being a responsible citizen and making a positive impact. Through my involvement in the RPMA® and other charitable endeavours, I am committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others and contributing to a better future for all.

Personal Life

Welcome to my website! I'd like to take a moment to share a bit about myself. I grew up in Dunedin, a beautiful city located in the south of New Zealand. In my early twenties, I was transferred to Auckland by my employer, and I spent the next thirteen years living and working in the city. However, my wife and I both longed for a change of scenery and a slower pace of life, so we decided to move to the stunning Hawkes Bay region.

Other Interesting bits

After finishing high school, I decided to explore the world and embarked on an adventure that took me to Australia and Southeast Asia. During my travels, I was able to immerse myself in different cultures and meet people from all walks of life. It was an incredibly enriching experience that broadened my horizons and taught me a lot about myself.

In Australia, I spent time in major cities like Sydney and Melbourne, as well as exploring the rugged Outback and stunning coastlines. I also spent time in Southeast Asia, where I backpacked through Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, immersing myself in the local cultures and learning about the rich history of these fascinating countries.

These experiences helped shape my perspective on life and reinforced my love for travel and exploration. I believe that travel is one of the best ways to learn about oneself and the world around us. It has also taught me the importance of being adaptable, open-minded, and willing to embrace new experiences.
